WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of independently employed women who share similar philosophies on the support and nurturing of childbearing women. We come together collectively to support one another and we believe in offering choice in one of life's most pivotal moments.
WHAT DOES MY DOULA DO FOR ME?
* Prental education through 2 visits during the last 6 to 8 weeks of pregnancy.
* Encouragement and support to the partner in their special and unique role. Education of comfort measures that may be beneficial to the labouring woman.
* Non clinical support to compliment your medical choices, care provider and birth setting of choice.
* Constant educated support during labour and delivery.
* Postnatal guidance, breastfeeding support.
WOMEN NURTURING WOMEN....
Doula's are not new. In fact they have been around for centuries. Many doctors, nurses and midwives appreciate the supportive hand of a doula during a birth.
STUDIES HAVE SHOWN....
Women who use the services of a professionally trained doula may note the following...

* Less Intervention of Forceps, Vacuum Extraction or C-Section
* Less Need for Pain Medication

HOW MUCH DOES A DOULA COST?
"Doula's of Chilliwack" is the umbrella for participating, independently employed labour support professionals. While we share similar philosophies and a deep desire to help all women, fees are discussed and arranged with each doula on an individual basis.
