TOUCH
We touch with genuine spontaneous love, in all transitions whether birth, death, change....we find touch healing.
Healing touch can be of assistance in creating a sense of "letting go" and profound relaxation which allows for the peaceful transition through the gates of dying. Touch also is crucial for life & growth! There are many names & approaches involving "hands on" healing which are available today. The intention of these modalitities is to offer loving-kindness, compassion, & care through the avenue of touch with the focus being facilitating balance & harmony in the person receptive to assistance.
"Without adequate tactile input, the organism will die. Touch is one of the principal elements necessary for the successful development and functional organization of the central nervous system, and is as vital to our existence as food, water, and breath." Deane Juhan (Job's Body)
On a deeper level touch involves the Healer "holding the space" that acknowledges that we are all connected, that we are whole, that no stranger exists.
Before touch takes place the Nurse Healer "centers," goes deep within to the space which connects all life...from that still place of wisdom comes the reminder given to the healee's body & energy field that "you are not alone." The gift offered is this quiet remembrance. The energy field of the healee begins to vibrate at a deeper frequency of well-being which brings balance and harmony. In some way being held in loving concern by an "other" REMINDS one that there is a place of wholeness & compassion.
Once centering is reached the Nurse Healer evaluates areas in the body, mind, or spirit where imbalance is noticed....these areas are "touched" physically &/or energetically and guided into a state of balance. The resulting will to live, vitality, & joy all promote self-healing.
The "sharing" or "resonating" of an integrated universe where you belong boosts the ability to heal & come into balance.
The Healing Presence of touch has been found to be a source of powerful support in the following areas:
*Accelerated healing process
*Pain reduction
*Relaxation (decreased anxiety, tension & stress)
*Boosting the immune system for healing & wellness
*Preparing for letting go, surrender, & the dying process
*Promotes a sense of well-being
