IN THE MIND OF THE POPS 65

<>10-15-09: There are some very young bands with so much promice. Last night my oldest daughter (who totally enjoyed herself) and I caught the Maine...A group of lads from Arizona that took me back to the Beatles minus the "crowd surfing"...Fans are diggin' them.. ..Kids sceaming and dancing if they knew how to dance or not..Knowing all the words to the Maine's songs and not shy about audience participation and though the singer was a bit vulger at times, they stike me as nice kids who have their rock & roll chops and sing exellent harmony...Yep! Kind of Beatle like..Kind of Troggs like...It was another the Town Ballroom show.. This place is a great indoor venue. The other bands that were all impressive...I think there's an invasion of British sounding American bands.....Hey! As long as there is sound, there will always be rock & roll in some shapes and forms....Future is so bright.....Music is love..It's all good....Well most of it anyway..<>
<>10-16-09: Another gloomy day here in Western New York..Nothing new in these parts of late....It actually snowed a little bit last night..
Anyway..The Sabres are on Long Island to play to Marin Biron and The New York Islanders tonight at last of old NHL rinks, The Nassua County Colliseum....The Sabres will likely be without Vanek and Miller tonight (according to my son's page)...Vanek has an upper body injury that the team feared initially was more serious than it is..He's been practicing with the team and is listed as "day to day"....Miller has been given the night-off...Patric Lalime will be between the pipes tonight for the Sabres....Gotta' keep that winning spirit...The Sabres are a young team packed with punch that could very well be a player or two from being a serious contender for the big dance..Than again, They might have entirely what it takes now...That's why they play the games.......Good weekend to All..<>
<>10-17-09: Boy oh boy, I gots to get my facts straight! Last nights Sabres game was home and NOT on Long Island......I doubt that anyone took my word for it and traveled to Long Island expecting to find the Sabres, but if you did, I hope you learned your lesson..My word is NOT gospel by any "stretch"......Anyway, The Buffalo Sabres looked very good in their victory of the New York Islanders...The Sabres are for real baby....Tonight they will be back in action at home against those pesky Atlanta Thrashers, who have been a headache for Lindy Ruff's team for the passed few seasons...Another solid performance will knock them off too......The Bills (our football team) will play the New York Jets tomorrow....I'm no Jimmy the Greek, but I feel that the Bills don't have a prayer and don't know if I can sit and watch the Bills get their rear axels handed to them by the high powered Jets....Well as far as I can tell, they're playing the Jets....Remember: My word is not gospel..<>
<>10-18-09: Celebrating the miracle of life. Yesterday Jingles gave birth to at least five kittens...She had them in the basement in a tucked away box that used to contain holiday decorations...I'm confident that they are cozy in there....Figure on waiting about a week to get them up here in the appartment.....Jingles comes out to eat drink and use her litter box then it's right back to her babies...I haven't had a momma cat since I lived on Loepere Street.......Time to watch some football..<>
<>10-19-09: Yeah, The Bills won in overtime in a sloppy weather beaten game...I want a coaching change as much as the next guy, but to put a billboard up calling for a coaching change on the thruway...This is a childish move...The money spent on this crap could be used for something useful...Homeless shelters, food pantries, and the list goes on... Too bad it took Trent Edwards to get hit resulting in a concussion to give somebody else a shot at Bill's quarterback....Fitzpatrick (the back-up quarterback) hopefully can be a deep threat...He has plenty of weapons in his arsenal..<>
<>10-21-09: It's a beautiful Autumn day in Western New York..Not quite Indian Summer like, but I like it.......I recently spoke on the phone with a doctor in ER and he was paged a number of times during our brief conversation about my youngest daughter being sick...We spoke about vitals and he suggested that I not bring her in and treat her at home.. All the germs in that over-crowded ER may get my child sicker....and it's only October...Thankfully my little girl is doung much better and will likely be back to school tomorrow.....My words of advice: DON'T KISS ANYBODY!!!! ....Sabres on the tube this evening..<>
<>10-22-09: It's another nice fall evening....I badly have the itch to jam.....I hope somebody returns one of my calls with some good news..<>
<>10-25-09: Just woke up after a WhipperSnappers Halloween bash....We couldn't help but take a break for the shootout to end last nights Sabres game with a Buffalo victory.....
I believe the Bills will pull off a victory over the Carolina Panthers and preserve Jauron's job..Fitzpatrick will be our quarterback in the place of Edwards (whos out with another concussion) and has been practicing with the team all week and T O will finally shine and our defense will be able to stop the run......Pretty optimistic huh?..<>
<>10-26-09: A cool start to the day...It's supposed to warm up today, so I gotta tie a sting around my finger to help me remember to shut the heat off...I need not get into the cost of heating a home...
It was a great weekend for local sports as Dick Jauron will likely be granted a stay of execution after their win over the lifeless panthers.....Hey!! Gotta love Sabres rookie defenseman Tyler Myers...This kid scored the winning shootout goal against Tampa Bay...I never saw a rookie defenseman play so well in all my years of watching hockey..No kidding!! We have us a gem...The kid has size, skills and hockey smarts..The whole package..........Oh yeah..Go Phillies!!..<>
<>10-27-09: It's one of those days...I guess I'm kind of feeling down in the dumps about quite a number of things.....The newspaper tells me the Sabres are in first place in their division....That helps a wee little bit..<>
<>10-28-09: It's another day of paperwork on this rainy day....I'll take a break to watch to the Sabres this evening and check in on the world series afterwords (Go Phillies).......I'll practice some guitar in the wee hours..<>
<>10-30-09: As Halloween magic is in the air, life goes on with it's twists and turns..I'm keepin it cookin' baby! ....................OOOH!! AHHH!! Sabres on the boob-tube..<>
<>11-1-09 We are now in November and the music business has me wondering about my future again...All gigs TOTALLY exausted...T will be hitting open mics, with the hopes of landing a music or bartending gig....There really isn't much else that I do...Go back to school at my age? I read that PAL grants are available to those who qualify...
In the wonderful world of local sports; The Sabres (with a number of players with the flu) had their butts handed in the form of a shut-out to Martin Baron and The New York Islanders...It wasn't pretty...and I don't see the Bills beating the Houston Texans (who should change their name to the Oilers...It's been more than a decade since the Oilers were moved and the Texans were in, but I can't get used to it....Than again, I can't get used to a lot of things..<>
<>11-2-09: If a team in the NFL can't stop the run, they are without a prayer...I'm sure there are some old war free agent horses that could help...That's were general management comes in...Hmmmm, Who is the Bill's GM????
Sabres need rest and plenty of fluids and they SHOULD be back on track..The flu does not discriminate..<>
<>11-3-09: I'm cooking up some homemade chili and pulling for the Philadelphia Phillies..<>
<>11-4-09: Well, A day later I finally managed to cook my chili...That's just the way life had it. Six hours in the crock-pot and perfection (if I say so myself)....Gonna' watch the Sabres tonight and help clense my colon with more of this fine blend..<>
<>11-6-09: I have a ton on my "to do list".....Tonight the Flyers come to town.....Sabre/Flyer games will always have that element of nasty to them....Time to get the lumber up baby!! ...Good weekend to All..<>
<>11-7-09: It's like Indian Summer has arrived...Even if it's for one day, I'll take it. ...The Sabres try to rebound from a very crappy showing against the flyers last night, with a game against those Breezly Bruins this evening..<>
