YOU CAN DO IT - TO YOUR SUCCESS!
WHATEVER YOUR DREAMS, HOPES, OR AMBITIONS, YOU HAVE IT IN YOU TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT YOU SET YOUR MIND TO DO.
Successful people are everywhere. They are in
the newspapers, on television programs, and are
being interviewed and their words written down
by reporters for all kinds of magazines and
journals.
But, how do we know if these "successful"
people are really telling us the truth or giving us
advice that we can follow and learn from? Watch
these people very closely - if they appear
apprehensive and ill at ease, that just may be an
indication that they are uncomfortable in public
situations or it may clue us in on the fact that
there may not be any concrete or actual facts
to back up what they are saying.
Real successful people appear relaxed and have
one point in common. They have the sound of
success. Its not in their "actual" words, but the
way they talk and react. The sound of success
is laughter, enjoyment, and being at ease as well
as putting others at ease. They are not afraid of
the type of impression they are portraying,
because they are real. They are not "putting on
an act", they are just being themselves. They shake
your hand confidently and sincerely. They walk
with an air of confidence that only comes
naturally when you are happy and content on the
inside as well as out. They have accomplished
what they have set out to do, and they have the
right to be proud and happy.
Not all successful people will make headline
news and be interviewed by major television
stations and talk-show hosts. They don't need
this type of exposure to enjoy what they have
achieved. All truly successful people are willing
to share their insight and knowledge so that
others may reach their goals and their pinnacles
of ability. Successful people can find joy in
simple things and the sound of their laughter
is not a mimicking type of facade, but a down-
to-earth real-time sound that tells everyone
around them that life is good and enjoyable.
Successful individuals take their goals and their
strengths and weaknesses very seriously. They
can, however, laugh at themselves, but will
never cross the line to ridicule or belittle
another. They are true giants in whatever they
pursue and undertake. These people face
problems and look for solutions. There is no
mountain that they feel cannot be ventured over
and each morning brings fresh, new opportunities.
To a successful person, others are their equal,
never beneath them. They may be giants of
industry or the arts, but they truly listen and lift
up everyone around them. Successful people are
men and women in every walk of life, different
ages, nationalities, and color. They are famous
or live just next door. These giants of success are
not afraid to lift everyone on their shoulders, so
that they can see even further.
A child is a vision and an older individual is a
beacon of hope. Nature represents balance and the
world is an arena of growth and true prosperity.
Money, fame, and fortune are tangible and can
disappear overnight. Family, friends, and values
last a lifetime and are worth their weight in gold.
Time spent in truly listening to someone is quality
time and sometimes a simple walk down a
woodland path with a friend is a chance to
renew strenght and composure. Winning an
argument to them is not as important as
understanding the views of another.
You are successful if you feel successful in the
small achievements as well as the larger ones.
You are successful if you feel you have all
that you need, but you know the difference
between want and need. You can share what
you have and find that it multiplies in return.
The sound of success is laughter-a ringing,
relaxed, I'm enjoying life no matter what it
throws at me, type of laughter. Its an I'm glad
you're here, that I have the pleasure to know
you, and let's work together type of laughter.
Its also a can-I-help-you achieve your goals
and dreams, and feel free to climb on my
shoulders and see how far the world goes.
To your success-

The month of October is a step closer to the
year's feast of Holidays. There are so many things
to do and places to go. There are gifts to buy for
family and friends and...
A gift for yourself is sometimes an extravagance
that many of us do not allow ourselves. We feel
that it is not a necessity, that it has a selfish motive
tied around the package, and that we should not
be spending our time and money on ourselves but
on everyone else.
There are those that feel that indulging themselves
in luxury and niceties is just fine and as that one
hair-color commercial so aptly puts it "because I'm
worth it."
A gift to yourself during the upcoming Holiday Season
is a really wonderful thing to do. It is a gift that does
not have to cost any money whatsoever, but it will be
a treasure that will outlive many storebought items.
It comes in your color choice, and engraving is free.
In fact, it is a necessity!
The gift I am speaking about is the knowledge to know
the world and its many facets and to treat each and
every single day as a "Present." It is not the past, it is not
the future, it is the "present," and what a present it truly
can be.
Now before your mind says, "Oh, this is one of those
pat yourself on the back, everything will be fine," type of
gift, forget it! No, not everything will be fine every single
day, every single moment, but it will be whatever you
make it or however you use it.
Learning about the world can take you to realms of
knowledge you never thought possible. The environment
is a part of my life, your life, and every other living,
breathing life form. We are all in this together - we have
to "share," and we are forever stewards of the earth,
whether we like it or not. The air you breathe, the food
you eat, and the water you drink are all part of it. Read,
listen, and be a part of major decisions that involve the
substances that become a part of your body, affect your
health, and influence your space in the world. From
chemical pesticides to pollution, from biological warfare
to fertilizing plants, and from factory profits to the
quality of the air your lungs breathe, learn as much as
you can so you can make knowledgeable, factual, and
responsible decisions.
Learn about nature and the wildlife it supports. There
is true "treasure" in discovering the many facets of the
animals, marine life, insect world, plant life, and even
the bacterial world that shares the world with us,
can help or harm us, and that we have a responsibility
to help or eradicate. There is no ceiling to learning and
adventure is the very spice of life. Taking the time to
learn, to investigate, and to discover and experiment
with ideas, issues, and reasons will give our minds the
exercise it needs to grow, to function at peak per-
formance, and to expand and enrich us as individuals.
Daily life is just that. In essence, it is the upward struggle
to achieve and accomplish, to move forward and to
retrace our steps when we fall back. It is to educate
ourselves as to skills and abilities, to learn from others,
to teach those around us, and to celebrate our talents,
and abilities, and to further learn from our mistakes and
failures. It is "never giving ourselves the luxury of giving
up" and it is "taking the heat" from others and being
able to build a grand fire with it. We can point out the
path that leads upward to those who are confused,
and we can tap those who have chosen the incorrect
road and do what we can to show them where the
"right way" is. It is taking the young and reaching into
our "resource" cabinet and use tools and ways to
instruct, enlighten and challenge. It is also taking the
elderly and opening our ears to listen to their wisdom
and their experiences. It is like having your own
personal guide to history but with the wonderful
ability to touch the hand and look into the eyes of
someone who has "been there and done that."
Your family, your friends, your neighbors and every
single being you encounter in your daily life has something
to offer, or to take away. Graciously accept what they
offer, utilize it if possible, or store it for future use, and
thank them by reciprocating the favor or just smiling and
bringing a new light to their day. It is also being able to
graciously give, to walk away from, and to cherish the
memories.
Each person, each life form, and each and every single
day is not just another reminder on a calendar, it is a
gift wrapped in papers of opportunity, challenge, insight,
foresight, and other things. The ribbon is the bright
horizons of possibility as well as the "ties that bind" to
our past, our ancestry, and our origins. The "tag" has
our name on it, and it is our gift - from a world that
would not be the same if we were not a part of it and
most certainly each and every one of us has made it
a better, brighter, and richer world to live in because
of who we are and what we have done and can do.
We may not feel we have made an impact on the world,
but you never know when someone is listening to our
words, taking note of our actions, and basking in the
warmth of our smiles and our kindness.
ENJOY!

A dream is just a dream unless we pick it up and run with it!
**
Computers can carry us across oceans and land, but there is still no substitute for a firm handshake and a ready smile!.
**
The human mind is still an untapped resource that can elevate the entire universe to new heights, but can bring it to unheard of depths as well. It is in the hand of the "owner" as to which direction it takes.
**
A hug and a handshake - battles have been won or lost with these two gestures-but so have friendships.
**
A sunrise shines on all lands and all peoples, it is not discriminatory nor does it take into consideration our bank account, or our status in society. It is there for everyone and its brilliance is definitely in "the eyes of the beholder."
***** ***** ******
We rush to and from work or other activities.
Appointments and commitments fill our daily
hours and we fall into bed exhausted but find
sleep hard to come. Our nerves are tensed
because there is so much more to do and so
little time. Tempers flare and the news media
calls it "road rage" or "domestic violence".
Our children feel stress at an early age and
many of our older adult population never get
to find and enjoy their "golden years."
Exactly what is happening to our daily lives to
cause all this unprecedented hyperactivity and
tenseness? We certainly have advanced in
knowledge and ability from the previous gener-
ations, but we still feel a nagging feeling to find
the real truth. There are enough entertainment
toys to fill our homes with noise, recorded
laughter, and music to anesthesize our minds
into a temporary respite from our worries and
our fears. We want to leave our children a
legacy of peace around the world, yet we nit
pick each other into a frenzy of hurt feelings and
lashbacks. There is definitely something wrong
and even science, as it progresses forward with
new discoveries and insights, can't seem to be
able to quiet our hearts, and fill our souls with
peace and tranquility.
No, science and technology can't do it. Your
co-workers, and friends can't achieve it for you.
You're it. Just you - you're the only one who can
put the brakes on this run-away activity cycle and
the desperate attempt at everyone and everything
around you to pull and tug in different directions
and to leave you frazzled and dazed. Your family
can't even put up your "stop signs". You're
definitely it. Only you can halt the super activity
cycle and enjoy quiet moments and refreshing
mini-vacations from the world and all its splendor.
You say you can't find a moment's peace, and that
there are responsibilities. Then learn response-
ability. There's a big difference here. Response-
ability is you being able to handle day to day
traffic of family, friends, work and play. It is the
capacity to control the flow of traffic because you
are in control. Constructing stop signs in your life,
and enabling the cool waters of stepping back and
stepping out of the frenzy to ease your fevered
brow and calm the tumulous waters of your heart.
It, in essence, means taking back control of your
life. It is giving yourself permission to stop, look
around, enjoy the scenery, listen to the sound of
nothing, and return to the highway of existence a
better person and one who has developed the
innate ability to know when enough is enough.
It is mastering response-ability.
So gather up your tools, and supplies and begin
constructing those stop signs where and when you
need them. You're the manager, the superintendent
of the road of your life. Use your authority to
become aware and to stop before life pushes just
a little too hard. Take your responsibilities and
handle them with response-ability. You would be
surprised how much easier traffic flows and those
annoying minor mishaps just don't happen as
often and they don't turn into major traffic jams.
ENJOY!
