Welcome to my Website.
"In it's most pure form, Jazz is being saved by the very institutions that condemned it fifty years ago."
-Dave Brubeck
Biography
I am a retired Medical Technologist (ASCP) and a retired Reserve Teacher from the Dayton, Ohio Public School system. During my teaching career my teaching assignments were music, science and mathematics. I have a Bachelor Of Arts Degree from Antioch University and a M.S.A. from Central Michigan University. I am currently working toward a Ph.D. in Music History at Capella University.
I have written several articles on Jazz History, and several articles on notable Jazz Musicians. My present project is a Historical Article on the comparison of East Coast Jazz and West Coast Jazz from 1950 to 1958. I am also working on a Fake Book consisting of fifthy songs. This project is in collaboration with a very dear and close friend, Mr. Calvin Harvey. Both projects will be published in 2009.
Throughout the years I have networked and played vibraphone, piano and marimba with top national and local musicians such as Cecil McBee, Pete Stinson, Derrick Gardner, Eddie Brookshire, Calvin Harvey, Freeman Lee, David Roy, Willie Craig, John Fedrick, Chuck Wade and Raymond Herring. I am now leading my own trio and duo and playing in the Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati areas.
Thank you for dropping by my Website. I hope you enjoy.
"There's no bad music. There's no good
music. There's music that you need."
